Subject: Happy Halloween!!

Well HAPPY HALLOWEEN, Margo (and Becca and Brian too! ) Hope you had a good one. I assume that you took Becca into town to trick or treat there since the action is a little more heated there. So what'd she get??? Did she go as a horse again???

I took Maggie out around the block and everyone LOVED her costume. You know I never thought I'd be one of those "buys their kid a hundred dollar Halloween costume" moms, I certainly wasn't for Maura (as she would no doubt remind me, lol) but the elephant was so cute and made her so happy, I had to get it, plus if you charge it, it's free, lol. Actually I'm thinking MAYBE it will fit her next year too, and if not, I can sell it on ebay. What did we do with our junk before ebay??

The highlight of the day was going to the little deli we go to for coffee and cookies, they had cute sugar cookies with lemon icing in the shapes of bats and ghosts and pumpkins, and Maggie got a smiling ghost, and she HAD TO WEAR her costume. Emphasis in that last sentence is important, I wanted to save the costume for trick or treat but made the mistake of having her try it on, so of course she made a big fuss about it before we left-- "NOOOOOO! NOOOOO!! I WANNA GO AS AN ELEPHANT!!!" So I dressed her up in it, took a picture (attached) and off we went in the car, and of course (lol) everyone oohed and ahhhed and fussed over her, she's going around the market going "I'm an elephant" and doing the trunk thing that Marty taught her.

Well... then I turn my back for TWO MINUTES to get a cup of coffee and I hear laughing from over at the deli counter, and I turn around and Maggie has TAKEN HER COSTUME OFF!!!!! and is standing there in her dydee and tshirt with the suit bunched up down around her ankles... and as soon as I try to pull it back on her it was "NOOOOOOOOO!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" Not a major fit, just about a 6.2 on the rickter scale, lol, but it made some of the kids behind the counter cringe and think "OK, maybe I WILL use protection next time" lol.

But she calmed down when I gave her the ghost, and we pulled our costume back on, and all was well.

Still what IS it with my daughters taking their clothes off in public places lol

What it was was she was hot, that's all. Once we got outside she was fine.

And of course trick or treating she was fine too. Marty and me took her around the block, she got a little box of nerds, a pack of juicy fruit (which always makes me think of you: "I don't like BREATH gum, I like FLAVOR gum") and a couple reese's PB cups, a handful of Hershey's kisses, a couple fun sized snickers bars, a couple other things, nothing gross like Boston baked beans or anything. Only maybe a dozen pieces but she said "It's so much candy! I never saw so much candy in my whole life!" lol

I told Marty if he takes ANY of it that I will murder him and hang his head out to scare off trick or treaters NEXT Halloween. Then of course I snuck a Hershey's kiss, lol, I ought to be ashamed of myself.

Anyway thinking of you three and hope you had a good Halloween! Miss you and love you xoxoxoxoxo christy
